Our history, purpose & goals

We are ATEC, an Australian social enterprise, that was founded by two Australian NGOs, Engineers without Borders and Live and Learn. Our purpose is to unlock the potential in rural farming families all across south east Asia by providing a clean cooking solution and increasing the productivity of their farms.

For this ambitious goal and the impact we keep delivering, ATEC has been awarded, acknowledged and supported from various international and national institutions and stakeholders.

Our vision for Bangladesh

Since our humble beginning, we have grown significantly. We have scaled up our operations in Cambodia and launched into Bangladesh as our second country in 2020 as a supplier in the IDCOL program.

What was inspired by the needs of rural farming families, and started by two NGOs, has turned into a story of a successful, thriving business making a positive contribution to the prosperity and livelihoods of its customers and to the environment in which they live.
